Nice thread... I'm easy with the game, runs fine and looks good enough for me which in turn racks up my hours of playing it..

I had my collectors edirion s worth of money a long long time ago....I've spent 4 times that on a **** meal that indeed turned into that once I got home on the throne..

Bring on the sequel and me f4!

Peace

Maybe we all should too?

COD showed some sparks of greatness, we all could see them, but its never going to be what we wanted, it just cant be done.

I hope with COD, they have learned alot of lessons of what needs to be done from the release and what this community wants from the next sim.

Im going to draw a line under COD and with what ive posted here.
From now on im going to start a clean slate with what happens with the development of BOM.

More importantly everyone ive bickered with or had crossed words with on this forum gets a clean start with me too.
Great initiative!

Deal done, mate.

Yeah time to let things go,

It sucked the game was released as it was. But I was confident they'd fix it to a 1946 level, but I was mad that its (Clod) the last patch and IMO I wish they'd keep plugging along to update it. However the devs did give their reasoning and its fair.

Yeah so its a new slate from here on out . . .

The sequel brings a lot of hope, after all it contains the IL-2, new stuff / features, and a working (hopefully) game engine, and possibly a/c like the p-40, early yaks, migs, the I-16 etc. I can't wait for the I-16, that little tough plane was great for griefing if one flew it correctly.

But it isn't the final goodbye for CloD.

Q
I know you stated the next CloD patch will be the last, so that means any fixes, advances and such into the game engine that come from the sequel will not be translated at some time or another back into CloD? Will Clod be completely abandoned in whatever state the final patch leaves it with no hope small updates, etc?

A
Why would you think that? We’ve never done that before, and I’ve always stated that our plans remain the same. There were many issues in the original IL-2 in 2001. After a few updates to the original, Forgotten Battles was released and there were no more updates to the original Il-2. That doesn’t mean it was abandoned however! You can still play all of the original Il-2 content with 1946, all carried over and updated with the rest of the engine.

I'll still be here, no matter if the BoM will, most probably, crash and burn, because as long as there's hope, there's also a future!

S!

WYSIWYG Battle for Stalingrad is my bet as the pics on Sukhoi.ru showed that river bend was from Stalingrad. Also Bf109F-4 and La-5 Early would indicate this...Will get it for sure.

Well said Furbs. Todays news really brought it home to me that this is as good as it will ever get. That being said, I think it would be for the best if we all try to move on together. We're on our own now after all and can't expect any help from the devs. I think it's time to start looking to the community itself. To the modders.
