I'm getting used to the Hotas X stick now.I'm so used to using a CH Products stick, throttle, and rudder pedals with Aces High,it's taking me awhile to adjust.I'm up to Simulator, and it feels about the same as Aces High in all respects except the flight modeling might be a tad bit more twitchy.Gunnery is a little harder, and I like the no 6 view.Makes one work a little harder.
I hated to buy a new stick set up to play a flight sim,but it's working out O.K.
I have been around flight sims a long time, and this one has drawn my interest. It's good to give the option of being arcade for those that like that method, and simulator for those that like that mode.
I tried the online mode when iL 2 came out.The con was horrid, and the same people that populate the public radio channel with belittling and trash were present there, just like Aces High.So I play solo, that's my thing. The AI on simulator isn't half bad,and better than a lot of online players. If your a struggling newb in Aces High, one of the first things you will get if you ask a question is,hit ALT F4,which of course boots you!......Sigh

bud, you are missing the best part of the game...online. you are missing historic senarios...epic battles...and some plain old laugh your ass off fun. sure, you are going to find @$$holes there....like you did with the other games. but i know some of the people here who play PS3...and they are good guys. you get in with a good group of friends and you would get some awesome games and really enjoy BoP a lot more. try hooking up with a few and see what this game really has to offer....

Agreed 100%. As long as you follow a simple code of conduct your online experience should be most enjoyable. The three most important things to remember, in my experience, are...

1. Never bring a B-17 to a Dogfight.
2. Never bring bombs to a Capture the Airfield match.
3. Bailout once your ship has sustained enough damage as to become useless in battle

Hope to see you soon

This is OT but I had to say this.
Those may be your group's understood rules but they certainly arn't absolute law that everyone must follow. I can understand the bail outs on PS3 but not your other two rules.

Dave, You can fly whatever you want using what ever weapons you want until the game host says otherwise. For example when I host games with my group of friends anything is allowed (although kamikazi frowned on), bombs and rockets in CTA, B-17 in dogfight (If you like dieing), its all good.
Bobbysocks is 100% right. Give it a try.

Fair enough, that's why I added "in my experience" to my previous post.
