it's a lot clearer now the text on crossworlds page has been fixed. crossworlds on its own is not standalone and requires armored princess. the one that has both armored princess and crossworlds is clearly marked as a bundle

Do you need to get the game through Steam if you have all your other King's game from Steam??

If you plan to buy the non-steam expansion to patch your steam armored princess, then I'm going to say YES but you may need a bit of tech savvy and perhaps a bit of illegitimacy.

I wouldn't recommend it..

If you have Armored Princess from Steam and you want to buy only Add-on then the answer is YES, you should buy it at Steam.
