Not sure what to sugest here. The more experienced players could jump in a rubbish plane and get fed up when another experienced player doesn't follow suit and romps the match. Or the experienced players could ease off but that's dangerous when there is a tournament coming up. All too easy to get out of the killer mindset.
I don't think there is anything but to bear with it and get better. I don't see Manchester United selling their best player to give other teams a chance...oh hang on.
No but seriously best bet is to get in Strike where it's a bit more open. Once you get to grips it will improve.

Default Just talk to people

As many of you know we fly in a group on team battle. Myself, Pudgy V, Unreal Death, TRC Suburu, BearClaws, TurboTim, UntammedCyco and others have been playing together since Blazing Angels. We do it because we have all become good friends and like to BS with one another while playing.

Do we like to win? Of course we do but, we also do not like to slaughter people as that is no fun either. We love nothing more than a good close game.

Also, we will try and go random if the teams are getting too lopsided.

Don't be afraid to talk to us. We will gladly break up the team to makes things even.

We will offer advice when asked.

We all got our asses kicked when we first started playing. It takes time and practice.

We do not want to drive anyone away from the game.

The scenario described in the first post has happened to me several times, I decide however that if im going down im taking as many of them with me as possible, even if theres not a cat in hells chance of me winning i'm going to bloody a few noses.
Maybe its just British underdog spirit?

this is the end of my online play.. tonight .. tough to find a game .. then when I do... this is the scenario..

team play (or capture the field) about 5 players each side .... the end score ... my side about 6 kills ... the other side about 60-70...

every time I spawned.. i was alone.. with 3-4 attacking me..
...
what's the point??.. we could make a new game ; give twenty 5-year old children a spoon... or fork..
we grown men will just use knifes.. but one or two with have guns .. just in case..

great fun... we could do this forever...

why would the game designers even allow this? a simple algorithm could distribute the skill.. oh, but that would be a competition .. big guys don't like to lose..

okay.. then give me a plane equal in strength .. and I'll fight it out..

oh, .. well the big guys require an advantage in return for their time and effort and experience ..

so .. it's not a competition.. it's not a sport (not sporting.. but I doubt that has ever occurred to anyone)

.. a game? .. a waste of time.. spawn. dead .. spawn ..dead ..
I've finished 2 complete campaigns... I'll fly the bombers to fill out the game ...the game tells me I'm good, hitting the targets.. bombing accurate... the online doesn't match in any way .. the precision required to score...

okay... well then give me an advanced tutorial.. with 'Online' precision.. to practice and judge my skill..

oh.. there is no such thing... why would the developers bother.. they've already got my money.. and they make nothing from retaining me as an online player...

okay.. i'm gone
Hello Matey,
Why not hook up with us? We're all on a learning curve, all at different levels & want to enjoy this great game.
I'm way behind most players but there is no elitism here, just a common love of IL2 -BOB.

My suggestion to the OP:

Avoid 'arcade' matches and play 'realistic' instead. It's really not much harder, and less of that crap goes on. 'Sim' is even better if you like it. It's easier to spawn without being noticed, since there's no big red arrow on your opponents screen pointing to you.

Thumbs up

This game throws you in the deep end in online play. Sink or swim dude. Take it as a challenge. You are the only one who can make it easier and more fun thru experience. I have to admit, the arcade camp looks like its split between vets and rookies, and the vets are having no mercy on anybody. I consider myself a pretty good arcade player, but some of these guys lately are damn good. They make amazing turns impossible in the other modes. Just keep playin. I'm an older guy and I guarentee if I can master this thing, so can you. The satisfaction of flaming some of these guys and hearing them get pissed is too much fun!!!! One guy I had to black list cuz his mouth is filthy and attitude is poor. Everytime I get in a match with him, I flame his ass as many times as I can and laugh like hell everytime I do. He never wins with me in the game. HAHAHAHA!!!

Yeah some like to intimidate with their mics. RATMAN and Cherokee Colonnial for starters. Why don't they just play on Realistic or Sim instead of spoiling it for the rookies.

just stick with strike untill your ready for a dogfight, the way i assess players is immortal pilot trophy/acheivement. If they've got it they're no rookie.
And more experienced players are in every game mode, it just so happens because arcade has the most players playing, that it has more of the experienced players than the other settings.
