The game is not expansion at all. ITs LIKE KB2. Different game and no need to have legend to play Ap

Oh and much harder btw :p Starting this game with mage even on normal is preetty hard. I did it, but i used strategy from impossible dificulty from legend ...

Armored Princess is a stand-alone expansion. It's not a sequel, because the game is almost identical to its predecessor.

can i still play the King's Bounty: The Legend and the expansion pack when i have the first game on cd and the second one from steam?
The quick answer is yes, you can play both. But as the others have pointed out, KB:AP is a standalone expansion. So you can play KB:AP even without KB:L installed.

I'm playing a mage on normal after finished the game with a warrior, and it's way more difficult.
Until Verona, I had major losses on my fights and just a few gold...

Now, I can fight without losses, thanks to my oil mist -> rain of fire, and a nice mana regen during fight (regen from killing stacks, after each round, and with the blue ball of the pet). The only thing I don't like is that my fights are so long. Way more than with my warrior.

And to reply to the subject, I don't know how you define a "sequel" to the game as a "new game" or how you define an expansion.
I call KB:AP a stand alone expansion, but the changes are kind of the ones between doom and doom 2... Same engine, same gameplay, just some improvement, new levels, and so on.
