The one issue i have with all this is.. i can't find a setting that works for both noon and dawn/dusk.

What looks good at noon is too dark at dawn/dusk.

Of course. This is post processing. It is not collor or light dynamically created by the game graphics engine. It's like creating a "style" by adjusting your monitor, the only difference is that it doesn't affect other programs. This doesn't really works in a game with dynamic lighting.
This is something that is useful for "styling" screenshots, images, not dynamic games.

I'll include some more comparison screenshots and the settings I used if anyone's interested.

actually guys, you might want to switch this on SweetFX (here you have another thread with more settings, screenshots and videos), as it has them all, and SMAA is better and faster than FXAA

S!

Adonys, looks nice that SweetFX. Could propably make a difference in IL-2 The colors in CoD are bland and could use a touch.

Thanks Adonys, I didn't know about that one. My own prior testing in Cliffs Of Dover didn't show any clear superiority of SMAA over FXAA, so the deciding factor in which one I used was the colour tweaking that the 'injectFxaa_by_some_dude' package enabled. But reading the changelog of the 'SweetFX' shader suite, it looks like that one might have even more options for fine tuning the colours. Big bonus too having the developer interacting with the community while he continues to work on the project. Will check it out.
