On my old Core 2 Duo E8400 with 6Gb DDR2 with a GTX580 I get 40-80 fps in most situations (weird combo but I'm waiting for my new chassis so I have replaced the GTX275 that was in that rig before with the card for the new 2600k rig that is now in a pile of boxes ). With my old 275 it was good too with the latest patches - got 30+ fps on the Black Death track with everything on high...
If that's true, which is unlikely, then Lego Star Wars much be horribly optimized just like CoD. It's ridiculous to expect people to have one of the top 10 graphics cards available considering what the published system requirements are.

Only when(IF EVER) this game is taking full advantage of the resources it's given can anyone make claims as to what graphics cards should or shouldn't work with it.

Default Finally playable

The latest patch and upgrading my rig finally made the game playable. My rig is far from top of the line, and I consistently can play with everything set on high (except building detail and building amount) and AA @ 2x.

Here are the specs of my computer

C2D 6400 @ 2.13GHZ
6GB ram (DDR2 533 mhz)
Win 7 64 bit
ATI 6950

I'm getting 30-50 FPS in almost all scenarios. After doubling the ram from 3 to 6, I no longer get any major stutters (seems like that was what was holding it back)

Just tried multiplayer with the latest beta.

Hopeless.

Lower frames, ground mesh/graphic corruptions, GUI mostly unuseable, how can it be so bad, and offline be so good?

I'm reverting back to the current non-beta level and coming back in a few weeks and hope things are better.

If not, I see no future here. The sim is losing long time players left and right. A break through has to happen, and soon, or it's the end of the line for the IL2 series.

I hope 1C is happy that they forced an early launch and wrecked it for everyone.

EL out.

I give up.... this is just frustrating to a point where im starting to get hate feelings wich is a shame cause i really enjoyed il2.

My personal opinion is to just leave it for what it is and start from scratch with a better engine etc... save that what can be saved and port it over. Give the people that payed and registered a free copy of the new product and your done. Atm i have a feeling that this isnt going anywhere...

EL i ave read that doing a CLEAN install of the patch helps...have steam verify the game (install the official patch) purge your cache and then apply the new patch... I know you should not have todo this but if it helps your performance why not

I'm very sad to say this, but with the latest beta patch I only get "Launcher.exe has detected a problem and it will close" and can't play. I've never had any problems with the game with the previous patches, so there is something definitely wrong with this patch.

My specs:
CPU Intel QuadCore Q9650
Ait HD5870
4Gb RAM
Windows 7 x64

EDIT: I reinstalled previous beta patch, and then this one and it worked. I'm impressed because I started a quick flight over LE HAVRE and I had NO STUTTERING at all, however, when flying over the city I think I got a bit less FPS as before (specially over the industrial area at Le Havre). Keep the good work guys. I'm proud of having bought the game on it's collector's edition at day 1 at my local store!
