If I change video settings, the game says it needs to restart. When trying to do this it always crashes.

Same here hardware is in the sig. Crossfire works when I play the Black death track almost 100% on both cores. In game I get 1/2 crossfire.

I´ve been fiddling around the quality settings from Medium to Very High. Grass is a eater but shadows are the culprit, besides flickering, it´s quite heavy or there are some conflicts specially with trees. I disabled it and the sim fly much better and smoother. It´s a shame because the lights and shadows in the cockpit is something. With shadows on, the flying experience feels hesitant.

Sorry, don't have time to see whether others have posted this one:
Cannot properly Exit from a Multiplayer online server after this Beta patch.
Squadmates have the same problem.

Thumbs up Браво!

I have found a general improvement with the graphic quality, and have been able to increase graphic settings slightly with no loss in frame rate. I decided to test this analytically, so I followed the recommended method of bench marking Black Death. A re-test with the tweaked settings produced identical results. The results were (avg., max, min, in-game counter):

Beta ver.14035: 36 82 15
Beta ver.14413: 38 83 13

These were run with full screen ‘on’, driver ver.11.4, CCC settings at default. A separate poster mentioned lower VRAM use, and this appears correct – there seems to have been a ‘streamlining’ of the graphics data, in that more now fits through the same ‘pipe’ than was previously possible. I noticed additional graphic detail in the BD track, without altering any settings (I tested this twice to be sure).

I checked cpu usage after a long low-altitude flight over Dover, and found it to be roughly 70%, 45%, 25% and 20%. Gpu usage was around 54%.

Thanks, team. I know each improvement may seem minor in isolation, but the change from its original state is fairly major at this stage, in my experience. The desire to upgrade my graphics card diminishes with each update, and is now on hold (at least until that ‘blue stripes thingy’ is fixed).

I highly doubt the whole CoD development team is looking at game performance only.

But I agree it's annoying to have minor cosmetic changes few would immediately notice when things like pixellated rear view mirrors are staring you in the face.
Pure speculation on our parts but if so.. Exactly.. Re-asign all resources to "making the game function" may be a good idea.. Getting 4 new items that actually work into a weekly patch rather than a bi or tri weekly patch with 2 out of 40 items listed in the patch notes actually functioning.

I'll stop here though. Just needed to voice the ol frustrations. And again, only frustrated due to the desire to see this sim do well. I bought a whole new rig for it I love it so much.

I agree they need to get the game functioning, but we have to remember these are beta patches so even if they throw 3 or 4 out a week it doesnt matter as long as they get some decent improvements into the steam release patch, only people that should really bother installing these beta patches are those that have the time or can be bothered to do some testing, of course I'm no different than most, and I just install as they come out, at least you can always back out to the last official patch and then install your beta of choice if you feel like it.

Just frustrating to see no progress whatsoever. I love this sim but there seems to be a lack of focus here. working on the way cockpit needles bounce when half the community can't run the game.

C'mon guys what seems to be the problem? I hope you can get the basics running on everyones rigs soon so people can atleast enjoy the game. Then updates become bonuses!!

Love,

I quote all I found many other problems with this patch!
