Default Graphical Glitch

I have an issue with the retail (DVD) version of the game that I did NOT have with the demo. The issue is that the ground appears as all black, and the textures appear a little washed out.

I don't know if this is becuase the demo was a more recent build (I seemed to notice this in the .ini file), because again the demo was fine.

I have an ATI Radeon 4870 card (512 mb). Tried it with both the most recent Catalyst 8.9 drivers and with the older 8.8 drivers. Also tried setting various options in display options without success.

Any help would be appreciated.

Very strange, send DirectX report to the support team (support@1cpublishing.eu). We'll try to help.

There was a similar issue with mass effect after the patch. I believe that somewhere under the game folder images are cached and when you patch or upgrade the game the cache becomes invalid. If you delete this cache of textures then the problem will be fixed.

There is a bug with teh Obelisk of Fandor in the swamps. The text does not wrap around so you cannot read it all - it is one long line that extends off the screen. Btw can you tell me what it is suppose to say (btw this is the english disk version).

There's a pirate beauty that you can be your wife after you kill the Kraken (Quite tough if you're not prepared) and Lucky James. Don't what the bonus is, because my game crash whenever I try to finish that quest (this happen after I kill both Kraken and James then seeing her). Try seeing her FIRST after you kill either the Kraken or James.

In a sense, I'm glad someone else has this problem. I also have this bug. The game crashes to desktop (no error messages) when trying to get Mirabella.

It doesn't matter if you only kill Kraken, talk to her, kill James, then talk to her again... the game still crashes.

I'm having the same issue. Tried reinstalling, loading newest video card drivers, loading DirectX 9c and 10. My graphics card should definitely be able to handle the game..
