funny how to me you're among the ones that exactly fall into the aforementioned category, although your posts are probably just because you just don't like me, but hey, "can't please everyone!" they say

I find myself agreeing with Kendo65 and Feathered IV here, this place could have been such a fantastic opportunity for community help and support, but if anything we have exactly the opposite. What made me think of it is the last examples of newbies (alleged or not, it doesn't matter) who voiced their opinion and disappointment and were so stupidly attacked and accused of god knows what. I mean, stop for a second about it: if these folks are indeed real newbies (or if other newcomers read your reactions), what kind of image do you think they would get from this?! My whole Alamo point is that there's a bunch of fanatics sitting on top of a bare mountain with NOTHING in their hands but promises, and instead of reaching out and saying "hey, we know it's been an endless joke this patch thing, but please have faith, it will be marvellous and the best combat sim ever!" they just spew out all their resentment and anger blaming people that complain along the lines of "hey guys, sorry to bring this up but it kinda feels like we've been ripped off!" for the failure of CoD. They don't blame the devs for their appalling lack of management, but the folks that used their honestly earned money to buy a produce that will never be. Because let's be honest, CoD per se is a failure: an incomplete sim which worked as a HUGE beta for devs, (and mind you, they still talk about beta patch release!) who racked up on useful info and have started developing something else.

Battle of Moscow will surely be a more refined product, which will still bring with itself all the incompetence of the managerial line of 1C/Maddox Games unfortunately, but which surely will make treasure of all the learning curve of CoD.

And hey, again I'm sorry if my opinion upsets someone, but if you aren't mature enough to take a critique and ask mods to ban negative comments and people who made them, then you'd better shut this place down and thinking about what the hell went wrong down the line fellas.

Hi Stern,

All good points and a very level headed way to see things, but it is still slightly naive.

it's funny how the newbies alway seem to join immediately after recent bannings, uncanny how they often have buzz phrases 'like it's been over a year now this is a joke'....a genuine newbie might be somewhat less bothered having purchased the sim for about $10 , theres always another way to see things.

yeah but it still remains that if an actual newbie reads the way people are treated here, he will be like "the hell with these delusional nerds, I'm outta here" and will put the game on the shelf.

And it's not just about delusion or being a nerd/fanboi or whatever, it's about being selfish: some folks here really think that for some reason they're entitled to know better than others what's right or wrong about this sim, looking at minuscule details to avoid realising the biggest, dramatic picture; they're happy if people leaves, so that they can be the undiscussed kings of this mountain of rubbish. Happy for people to leave! Can you imagine anything more counterproductive for a niche product like this?!

It's sad, I'm sure that all that energy could be channeled along better routes, but for some odd reason being aggressive on a forum is so much easier and rewarding for these individuals..

It is. Just look in the technical/performance/gameplay sections and you'll find plenty of help and support.

As far as the game itself is concerned, patch or no patch, online play can be terrific. Ditto designing your own missions/campaigns in FMB.

Sure the Launcher crashes are there online, but all you do is clear the cache and jump back in.

We'd all like to see the patch released for a lot of reasons, but the idea that the game is useless without it is just plain wrong.

But one thing's for sure, you won't find help and support for your gaming needs by lurking in the Pilot's Lounge.

oh don't get me wrong, I like that a lot, it's strong and going, but it doesn't change the scenario that we're in. Sometimes I wonder if it would be worth closing the general thread page until things are sorted out.

As for the pilot's lounge, seeking help there is not the way to go, if people think of it as a solution they're fools.

I personally like the fact that there's still a lot that comes out and can be shared in the pilot's lounge.

Am I flying CoD at the moment? No. It's not performing well enough on my machine, and I still feel like the issues that will soon be addressed with the patch might take me back to it, but until then no, I've spent too much looking at that icon on the desktop wondering what was worse, not having the sim or having it and it doesnt work for you..

Most of them were actually spare accounts of banned members who stated thet they would not return. But they have returned like they always do. For a good whinge.

While the mods probably try to keep this place going, it is not hard enough. Always two-three spamming negative threads follow a dev update but nor they nor the users that created them get infractions. Some of the mods have an ignore list so they don`t see any of the spam posts. They are probably ignoring the user reports aswell.

No mod has an ignore list. The ignore list function is there for forum members to ignore posts from people they don't want to read.
Don't like someone, or don't want to read their posts, you have the option to put them on your ignore list, or, you can have a pointless, embarrassing multi page argument with them online for all to see, and probably get yourself on somebody elses ignore list.
Members can work towards turning the forum in to a nice place to hang out, and share their love of the game, or they can work against it, and drag the forum down with constant arguments. It takes two people to have an argument.
