Indeed, sounds more like Crimson Skies, but since the "French chick" pics from Igromir I was more or less expecting that While my own interest in this kind of campaign is quite limited, I see two upsides here:

- This should go well with general review sites, who usually criticize most sims as too dry and not exciting enough.
- A dedicated single player campaign system is there, instead of generic and repetetive furball action as an appendix to online gameplay.

Thanks to Luthier for clearing up the German campaign situation; would have indeed been a major omission for obvious reasons.

Congrats to the team and I'm looking forward to March!

I'll take one of each....Standalone to play and Collectors Edition to immerse myself.
Hope they are both readily available.

Default Please no ridiculous DRM

Let me start by saying that I am going to purchase this game no matter what, because I love what Oleg and his team have done, and I'd like to thank them for it. I have spent countless hours strapped into my chair playing IL2 because, in my opinion, there is simply nothing that is more accurate and more enjoyable when it comes to WWII flight simulators.

This being said, I sincerely hope that IL2:CoD does not use some ridiculous anti-piracy solution that inhibits the multiplayer/singleplayer aspect of this game. Sure, there needs to be security in place, but it must not make the game any less enjoyable or reliable for legitimate paying consumers. Regardless of how sophisticated the DRM solution is, hackers will find a way to get around it. This has been demonstrated time and time again, and the main victim in this battle is the honest paying consumer. Which, in turn, eventually leads to a decline in sales. I passionately hope that Oleg and his company do not lose some of their hard earned money to such a small aspect of what appears to be an amazingly well designed product.
