The Jug ain't bad. It's just not that good.

I'm ok with turning like a bus, but it seems really underpowered. Maybe I haven't gotten her up to her appropriate playing altitude, but about 5,000' I'm barely pushing 300mph standing on the WEP, straight and level. Thought I heard a lot of stories of P-47s dumping the nose and hauling ass away from trouble. Seems not to be the case so far. Even in a moderate dive at WEP I'm only getting 330-340mph max. That much mass with that big an engine ought to be racing gravity on the way down.

But, on the plus side, I've managed to keep her flying a minute or so longer than normal, and with 2 more Spits than normal chewing at my tail. Guns are really nice. A quick burst can end somebody's day - which is good, because you've only got a couple seconds before your target realizes he's being shot at and pulls a turn that you have no hope of following.

BnZ - all day, every day for the Jug.

Well, in the UK its £8 on the PSN Store which going with the current exchange rate is $12.86. Bit of a joke really, seems as though Sony dropped a b*****k with this one.

$5 would be a little more than £3, which I would would pay for a hour or two of new missions, for this particular game.

edit: I'm still hoping its a mistake on the psn blog, and that its going to show up for a lot less when it appears on the store later today.

Right on. It's 10 euros on PSN and I really hoped it was a typo, much to my dismay. Your nice review has convinced me that it's just not worth the very steep price.

Well, if Pedro doesn't mind my two cents...I think his review is pretty spot on, but it should be mentioned for the PS3 players out there that you're NOT Getting the Ta-152 right off the bat with this, you're still gonna have to unlock it. Me personally, I'm a little disappointed but mostly ok with this, mainly because most everyone who has it has said it sucks to a greater or lessr degree. Just realize you're getting one plane and six new missions, wich IMO, were would've been worth the price of admission even without another plane.
Also, if it helps anyone, when flying the P-47, I've found it useful when turning especially at low altitude to keep the throttle all the way forward, as the plane seems to lose energy faster than most. Not surprising cosidering it's mass. Hope that helps.
