Hi all
thanks for all your attempts to help with
il-2 installation,but I think I'm going to have to give it up,either because of a glitch in my PC or my lack of PC savvy,I have tried to follow your tips but i can't find the files suggested, just IL-2.exe ..... which the read me says has been changed for Vista,but whatever I try I always end up at same "install" page, and I can't even get it to re-install to try again.i found CoD unusable,possibly for the same reasons,Thanks anyway.

I think you would be better posting this problem in the 1c Publishing IL2-Sturmovik forum as someone there may have a solution for the download version. State your system specs and describe/name all exe files that you have in your download. Hopefully someone will be able to help you get it installed, IL1946 still has a huge fanbase. All the best.
