I understand, I waited like 6+ years before getting a new system, it really is an investment. If it was me I would leave the cpu, unless you can get a second hand one really cheap its not worth buying in the long run (because in a year or two when you are able to upgrade that $ will be much better sent by going for a more "holistic" approach.)

Another thing you could try is overclocking the hell out of your CPU is possible to boost performance.

Here is my target processor...

The issue for dual core CPU's is the game is now optimized for a minimum of 3 cores.

1 for windows, 1 for the textures and one for the rest of the game's functions.

If you are stuck with two cores, one is going to be overloaded. One will be running both Windows and the rest of the game functions.

I don't think your problem is your video card or memory.

Since you can't afford a mobo/cpu upgrade, there is not a lot you can do about your problems, your only options are:

1) Overclock the CPU. Yours is a little slow, try to get it up to 3.5 ghz at least. This will give you a little more headroom.

2) Get a good program which will shut down EVERYTHING on your desktop except what is absolutely necessary. That way the CPU which is running Windows and everything but the textures will have a little less load.

Doing a half-a$$ed upgrade is not really going to solve your problem. Better to wait and save your pennies and get a decent cpu/mobo combination, I'd recommend a 2500k as best value for the dollar. With your GTX-570, you would have a system which would run the game smooth as butter.

You dont know what youre talking about if you really mean that going from a Duo to a Quad 9650 to run a multicore utilizing game is half as.sed. A Q9650 at stock speed wont bottleneck a GTX570 either, and he already have 6GB ram. Gimme a couple of days and let me reinstall CloD, and Ill get back to you, mkay....

Although I would NOT recommend a Q9650 at that pricetag. No wai.

Im with Kimosabi, at that price tag is not worth.

If you can wait a bit I´ll up some tests with my E8500 that will show that is not only for the price that is not worth.
