Install to a different directory other than the default Program folders.

Create a folder on your hard drive and install into it, or copy the game in the program folder in to it.

EG: C:\IL2\IL2 1946 v4.10m

that's the FIRST thing, the VERY First thing I did. All my games are installed outside the program files area. and don't start with nocd stuff. I tried that as well. The results were the same as WITH cd. Nothing happened.

Have you tried the alternative mg_snd.dll and mg_snd_sse.dll?

I wish I was more techy minded so I could help. I am running a Gigabyte GTX460 with 1GB RAM and I have had no problems since installation so I have no idea what might be stopping your machine from working.

I'm running on a quad core with q6600 @ 2.4Ghz each core, 4GB RAM, 64 bit Vista, and get around 45-50ish FPS on Direct X, and around 40-45 FPS on Open GL with perfect settings with the GTX 460.

Is there any info that I can send that might point you to where your error might be? Like my dxdiag or something?
