Hey Spitfire, I've had quite a few times when I've scored a clear hit (even had the deck of the boat burning) and there was no change to the tickets on either team, and even more times when I'm fairly sure I've scored a hit but there's been no change (but only raise the question marks over the ones I'm sure about, my aim isn't perfect ). There are definitely fairly common cases of direct hits with bombs and no changes to tickets.

I unlocked the big 132 rockets for IL-2 and some of the unlocks for the IL-2 is to destroy ground targets, which is impossible because the plane is crap. No more powerfull than a spud gun.

The only thing it is good for is on the CTA games, i'm not sure if someone who is landed counts for a ground target? Should do. I've definately killed more than 5 landed people with an IL-2 and not unlocked anything.

Doe's it matter how you bomb? How high? Dive bombing?

that quite strange, ive hit approx 20 meters to the side of a ship and still took tickets. but then again the bomb size does play a role in it
