I like it, alot, although it does feel a bit more tame than the demo, i find it much harder to stall, but having said that i think the AI is alot more agressive...was a bit dissapointed that you cant fire cannon or machine gun, you have to use both, but apart from that im liking it. Graphics are superb, although there appears to be alot more slowdown on the retail version than the demo.

Multiplayer seems to be awesome, although i think it will turn alot of people away when they constantly get pwned by someone who actually has a clue about ariel combat [ariel combat? little mermaid? wtf?] but so far so good...although i never noticed, when flying as a bomber do you waist gunners automaticaly target enemys or do you HAVE to control them yourself?

Flying as the 109 in multiplayer i found it incredibly hard, as you have almost no point of reference when looking around the 'virtual' cockpit, no wings, or cockpit framework or anything, and its very difficult to maintain flight and look around in that mode...but dlc hopefully will come soon...was wondering maybe have the 109 cockpit and maybe a few others and just paste them onto all axis planes? screw historic accuracy, i want to be able to fly these birds on simulation without crashing every 30 seconds because i have no point of reference...

BUTTT

AMAZING GAME GUYS, THANKS ALOT!!

Im still trying to understand the problem with no wheel brake...... whats the difference between the stick and the pad?

with the pad once you have hit the deck, when your throttle is at 0% just still hold it back to reduce speed...thus comnig to a halt....

Is this not the same with the stick??

with a stick I just throw in full rudder and the plane turns around before the end of the runway, thus giving you another full runway length to come to a complete stop.

Default sim mode really isnt sim

ok guys i have the game and its cool but is missing alot of things ...that would make it a great game..first simulation mode you should be locked in the cockpit however you can switch between virtual and cockpit ...and thats not realistic at all... their is no blackouts or red outs....you should be able to drop your landing flaps at will... not drop the landing gears to get em out...some air craft have machine guns and cannons and you should be able to fire 1 or the other ...you have no choice...plus they look and sound the same when firing them.and the cannons seem very very weak..and whats with the brakes when you land their arent any...you cant shut off the engine ...you also cant config your flight stick i have a saitek evo that works however i dont use it because the rudder and trottle are auto asigned to stupid button config...last but not least i wish the game had bf 109 and fw190 cockpits.....virtual cockpit isnt sim...hopefully a few patches can fix this im a hardcord sim fan .....and need a sim fix...next episode super charges and prop pitch ....configed to a keyboard..mantini out

Agree with everything.

I'm guessing the virtual/cockpit is optional in sim due to the Axis cockpits not being finished for release and therefore giving an advantage to the players with the forced virtual cockpit. Since these cockpits are coming soon in DLC I'd imagine sim mode would then be restricted to cockpit only.

This game is massive. I have been playing hours and I feel like I haven't even made a dent. The graphics are very impressive, but there are definitely issues with slowdown. It usually happens whenever you go through a cloud of smoke. The differences in flight dynamics are quite a treat, especially after dealing with ACE Combat 6 all this time. Voice work is tastefully done, a little annoying at times, but again nothing like ACE. I really wish the music score had a bit more meat to it, after playing the demo so many hours I feel like I have heard it in it's entirety one two many times. I do hope they decide to release the German cockpits sooner than later, and hopefully a few more maps later.

Overall it's what we have been waiting for gents. This game truly is unlike anything to ever grace a console.

Sad thing is, I was the only pre-order at GameStop and NO ONE has heard of this game

Couple things I had a problem on....

PS3 with Tmaster HOTAS.

2)I'm going through the training missions still. The one that you have to issue the commands. I am using the ^ button on the throttle and issueing the commands with the hat switch. When I get to the third command, Cover Me, I issue it and nothing happens....I am stuck on that mission.

3)The gunner position on the bomber....While using the hat switch it seems like it keeps going in what ever position your pointing until you start firing...then it will steady on he target.... Couldn't get past this one either....

Anyone else having problems with controls in this game....seems like the sticks make it easier to fly, but make it harder to do simple things.

Can someone clear up the issue of whether there are dedicated servers? Thanks in advance.
