Maybe your props struck the ground and killed the engine. I've done it like 30 times(on purpose of course!).
I think your right, I just had several more attempts, and hitting the props definately did it. I managed to land without killing the engine so I think that proves it. HOWEVER.... according to Anton, you explode if your plane is too damaged to take off again, why didn't I explode??
