Anton you are acting like a child. how can respond in such a way that comes out like you are doing us a favor, that if the game does not go gold we will never get anything like this. peolpe come to this forums is to complaint mostly, about the things that can make this game great. these are the players that are going to make this game go gold because they are the hardcore il2 Fans. listen to them not get mad and send childlike responses. its a good game and I hope is goes gold so we can have more and more of this.

about 13% of a population are left-handed
5-8% are color-blind (the radar, may be impossible to see friend or foe) flexibility in control scheme is a good thing, almost a standar in games that have spatial 3d movment. (not full customization, but different layouts to choose from) Most console owners have multiple games. standarized controlls or customization makes switching between games easier. |

You simply had read it wrong.
It is sad, that somebody won't buy a game, because of controls. It also sad, that the one hadn't let developer know about his concerns earlier, before game gone gold. But only thing one could do now - is buy or not buy the game. That's it. I am not doing 'a favour' of releasing this game. It is business. If the game won't sell good - there won't be sequels, it is clear. If everybody will buy Heroes over Europe instead - there will be sequel of Heroes. Nothing I can do here. If everybody will buy our game, and get used to our layout - than all future games, even not from us, will support this layout. Nothing I can do here also. But it's completely useless to write in each thread, that game sucks because of layout. First, I disagree, second it won't help anyone. And, btw, simply that it's part of my job doesn't mean I like to read anything like your post. It is generally good idea to talk without using something like 'childish'. |

Yeah, stick flipping would be good to have.
Personally I have no use for it. Evey single console flight game i have ever played has had Lefty Flight as the standard scheme. All the hardcore flyers adore the virtues of the joystick experience... Soooo.... the upset party must be R/C Flight enthusiasts with muscle memory issues? I used to fly R/C planes before an analog stick gamepad ever existed. Hmm, a shame people are so upset, really. Ah well. |

Look at it this way. We were told the control scheme MONTHS ago, probably around last Dec, IIRC. No problem then. All of my games have slightly different controls, but the left stick is your main stick. OGF, AC6, Hawx. Can't remember Blazing Angels, I used that just on the Aviator.
Anyway, point is that we've enjoyed a generally nice and amicable forum here for about a year. Getting tidbits of info here and there... Well what we're seeing here is an influx of people who--despite their attitude--are really here expressing interest in the game, just in an uncouth way. Enough to actually do research on it. They may be rude, ask old questions...but despite what they say, the mere presence of being here is a sign of support for the game. Seeing a lot of first time posters. Anton, take it all as positive attention in the form of a shoddily wrapped present. |

It's not just RC, it's a different layout to most flightsticks as well. Certainly the two I have for the PC both have your right hand on the aileron/elevator and left hand controlling the throttle. I've done a quite a lot of full-size flying in various aircraft and always had control of the ailerons and elevator with my right hand.
Yes I probably could get used to it given time but it's approximately equivalent to some publisher bringing out a first person shooter with no option to invert the y-axis and then telling anyone who doesn't like it that their control scheme is brilliant and anyway it's basically their fault for not telling them sooner. I'd probably not be inclined to give them my money. Telling anyone who doesn't like it that the control scheme has been known about for ages kind of presumes that anyone considering buying this game will have spent the last year scouring forums like this one for every last bit of info which is obviously nonsense. The lack of any option to change this over is a complete oversight and I'm actually now stuck trying to decide whether I want to pay effectively £80 for the privilege of playing a flight sim on my TV or whether I should just forget all about it and play the PC ones that I already have. |
