I wouldn't mind random babies, if only none of them were crap, and if they were generally improved, so that with a baby you get a very good bonus, much better than the average artifact, since you're stuck with a baby.

That's right, with crap babies removed that would be more cool even if random make sometimes a result less good than items. Myself I consider them as plus try during the game until undead area and with a wife I don't want keep.

Rina rocks will you get your final wife (be it Feanora, Neoka or Xeona) She can get a lot of useful children, provided you're lucky enough. Refer to the link I gave you to check out what kind of children she can provide.
