Random Items? Or fixed upon first encounter?

Aren't this zombie giving always the same item anyway? Myself I remember always get the same ring from it, any game.

Nope, it usually gives a different one. There's probably a list of possible ones, each with a chance of appearing in any given game, and which one is determined at the start of the game. Personally, I don't think that I've ever gotten a good item from it. There's enough items in the game that it doesn't matter that much if this one sucks.

Rhaa it's weird at my last game I check carefully to see if I get again the Bronze Ring and again I get it. Myself I don't see this item that bad when you upgrade it, with some character and a slot available I find it ok, sure there's better.

I have a new current game but haven't yet done the fight I'll check again carefully.

About item random it's not fully random but more like you wrote, random among a list. For example is anybody get the elven crown in the first areas?

In the current game I check again and didn't get the ring but the Flame Necklace!! Well for a mage it isn't that bad alas in impossible mode the gremlins fight to update it is... chocking!
