Nobody knows yet He111. Oleg said that if your computer can comfortably run IL2 on the highest settings you should be able to run SOW BOB on the lowest settings, probably.

What is going to be interesting in all of this is how Oleg is going to get the new engine the scale. We are no longer playing the Mhz or Ghz game for that matter.

It's going to be Multicore CPU/GPU. It's going to be interesting to see which side of the fence he can leverage. Right now IL2 is really meant for a single processor and it scales pretty well given it's age. If he can leverage both technologies the current rigs will run the game fairly well. I suspect the new generation ATI and Nvidia cards will matter more than upgrading to the latest CPUs. Just a hunch though.

I somehow have this feeling that this new sim won't be a massive resource hog. Much like what JG27CaptStubing said it will probably scale pretty well, probably similar to ROF where going from a dual to quad core will increase frames even with a slower quad. Oleg has said and many have since quoted saying that SOW will allow for mulitcore CPU's but a rig that plays IL2 fairly well should play SOW at low settings. I have a FX-60, 2 gigs ram and a x1950xtx all stock and can play it smooth as butter with AA/AF on. That being the case a good C2Q say a 9550/9650 should with a good GPU should play the new sim with most of the settings on high, willing to bet with an i7 you're good. IL2 was well coded and I have no reason to think SOW won't be either, unless of course Oleg pulls a MS and screws the coding then all bets are off.

What I did recently was experience how much resolution can help smooth things out. I just upgraded from a 17" 1280x1024 monitor to a 19" 1680x1050 thus dumping most of the load to my GPU and now some of the addon maps that would cause stuttering is smooth even with AA on.
