A disadvantage of taking instrument panel pictures of a working aircraft is that many of the WW2-era instruments have been replaced by modern ones. Certainly, the radio and navigation aids are going to be 21st century, rather than 1940s vintage.
I discovered this the hard way when I tried to get pictures of the C-47 cockpit. What's likely to remain authentic are the other parts of the cockpit - rudder pedals, throttle quadrants, cable runs, seats, etc. |

FWIW, I checked out the Duebendorf Flight Museum web site, since they have a flyable Ju-52. One little gem I found is a .wav file of Ju-52 engine sounds.
http://www.airforcecenter.ch/fileadm...loads/ju52.wav Assuming the engines are still BMW 132 radial engines, this would be a handy sound file for the Ju-52, as well as the Ar-196, FW-200, and Hs-123. |

The instrument panel that was on display outside the JuAir booking office was removed from one active aircraft and restored to it's original delivery configuration, with all the original instruments, sadly still not been able to track down the images I took of it yet but still looking. The only cockpit shot I've tracked down thus far is a fairly poor quality shot that was taken inside the Munchen museums Ju52, which I beleive is a post war french built example.

Sita, unless you see any obvious differences in the layout of the AAC.1 and the Ju-52 instrument panel, treat them as the same plane. |

53 Schalthebel Feuerlöschanlage (links und rechts) ein -aus:
shift lever fire-extinguisher (left and right) on - off 54 Abstimmungs Hebel für die Drehzahl (gross-klein-Sturzflug): control lever R.p.m. coordination (high - low - dive) 55 Tankschalthebel (Brandhan) (auf -zu): engine fuel shut off valve (open - close) hope these are the correct terms |

More simply:
53 Fire Extinguisher (left / right engine): on - off 54 RPM Switch: high - low - dive 55 Fuel Switch (in case of fire): open - closed edit: 53 and 55 are mostly used together in case of engine fire: first you cut off the fuel (55) and wait until the engine stops, then you use 53 to extinguish the engine fire Last edited by sniperton; 11-15-2016 at 05:12 PM. |
