This photo is on display in one of the hangars. It shows that the airfield was in RAF use during WW2.

A few more photos. There is a thriving aeromodelling club at Shuttleworth and they fly regularly. The Heinkel 111 is interesting. There's an unusual passenger onboard!

Also, note the unusual tin to collect the oil leaks from the Gladiator. Perhaps it adds to the flavour??
