Unhappy This is not new; Why would you hurt legitimate owners?

I too am a victim of "securom-ing" (This has happened more than once to me, with KOTOR as well) where an update made a game I bought and was playable unplayable (wrong disc inserted error) even though my system has nothing to cause it to be rejected. I don't know what it is about Vista (mine is 32 bit) that causes it to make SecuRom so angry, but this "Patch fixes problems" = "Patch renders game unplayable due to Draconian DRM" is completely ridiculous.

You can follow the link to:

http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=wrongdisc

And then submit your system information by running their little diagnostic problem and they may or may not give you a new executable so your game can run again. Of course, whether or not the executable has the new patch stuff or is the equivalent to having to reinstall is anyone's guess.

Also on the box you should find their support contacts
Noblis' site, if you click on King's Bounty, takes you back here. There are no options on their web site for customer support.

My Boxed edition and its manual point to you all's web site, or Atari's customer service site which has only one technical support hint that the disc may need cleaning; Atari forces you to go through that site just to have the privilege of sending an email to them to ask about your problem.

I would ask you all no longer stealth-update DRM making legitimate users lose time and energy playing your games; it completely has made my otherwise enthusiastic endorsement of your game (which I planned ot buy for a few friends for Christmas) completely skeptical and now you have lost 2-3 sales from it. I should not have to choose between unpatched crashes and patches that require me to guess if my DVD that I bought will be recognized by my computer any longer.

You all should pull the patch or at least add a warning it renders the game unplayable to many Vista users because you added a stealth and unnecessary update to securom in it.

Why punish legitimate customers?

For Nobilis version is usualy this support email valid (but still check either your confirmation email - if you downloaded it, or your box / paper manual if you purchased boxed version)

support.eurogamer@gamesplanet.com

Why it is so important to check your manual/box/email? - In my email is literaly written that I would need to add my order number - as reference (they won't support much if they don't know that your product is really from them - and your order number confirms exactly this)

If you have the Atari version, the 1.7 patch will cause the "wrong DVD" drm error. Install the patch below it for the Atari realease.
