Wrong... At the time you were using Crossfire the drivers were in their infancy. There are several modes in which you can run the game under and utilities such as Nhancer and Rivatuner can force settings needed. In most cases with an Ati 1300 you didn't have the horse power to see that much of a difference. I run 1920X1200 perfect 16XAF and 8XAA with the 4.09b dlls with the terrain distance doubled and I can assure you it doubled my performance adding the second card. The key is forcing the game to use Split Fram Rendering. For what ever reason the newer version of Alternate Frame Rendering causes a pulsing studder effect. SLI and CF are a heck of alot more mature now. |

I have run many tests with my system in countless software configurations.
SLI works better on my system with the settings I use. I normally run Il2 at 1920x1200 with AA at 4x and AF at 16. Most of the drivers I have tested benefit from SLI running Il2. The BIG thing for Il2 performance is your processor/clock speed. It doesn't matter how much power you have for the GPU, you need a good CPU to gain the full power of your GPU. That's the way Il2 works. I do get an increase in performance using 2 of my 4 cores. That and many other tests have been documented on another thread quite some time ago using the Black Death and Kamikaze as test tracks.

I finally got it to work properly, it still crashes randomly, but I take it that that is normal. I have the resolution pumped up to 2560x1600 with everything maxed and it now runs GREAT!! Just had to tinker with Ntune, Riva tuner, etc.
I can really notice the difference with SLI on or off at these high resolutions, it is drastic. |
