Still, that's 20% bonus to base Int (without items, without wife, etc...). Which even mages don't have too big. You need at least 25 point of base int to even out with straith +5 bonus. My end-game mage had around 35 Int, but his base Int wasn't over 25.

I think I will hold off with those 2 kids... I don't want to risk losing her last artifact slot, which is currently giving me +6 int from some ring.
