nice video to illustrate the CoD game qualities
![]() but if you know exactly where the flak battery is, why still fly directly over it ? navigation skills were good enough to locate the flak and target locations exactly, surely a slight additional detour around the AA unit would have significantly reduced the risk. and if you had to fly directly over the AA zone for some reason, why fly over it like a line of ducks in a row with spacing between your line of planes, allowing the flak to target one plane at a time in high concentration ? ( spread out side by side forces the AA to split its fire making it less risky) tactic tactics gentlemen ![]()

Zapatista, that target is surrounded by Flak on all sides. I think we actually managed a good short interval between our three Blennies. The Old Man didn't find the target, but as you can see I bombed only a few seconds after the first Blennie that dropped its load. His time-delayed bombs even went off after mine. Flying parallel is not so easy when you have to hit the same target! Coming in from different compass directions would be good, but that would of course present a huge problem regarding the timing...

Players flying at these low alt's is one of the reasons I don't enjoy on-line play

Low level has it's place
Watch from about 17:10 for some low level Blenhiem action! I guess its a case of a few bombers by themselves can't win a war, but using team work and precision techniques they can sure meet their objectives and roll a map. Low level attacks aren't all beer and skittles by the way. They are quite dangerous and practically impossible to get away with if the other side can be bothers to protect their assets! In the gaming world though a little elbow room is needed, some height for maneuvering in an engagement.

There is definitely a place for high level, and low level tactics. I never understood those that only flew at high level, and looked down their noses at ground pounders and their escorts. In a real war you didn't have the option to only fly at a level that gave you the best chance for survival.

The contribution of the Blenheim crews in the BoB has not been fully recognised. Their losses were savage.
Excellent video ![]() |
