Yup, you can only get the two soldiers at this point...

The "Mad Mallet" quest is filled when you go to Demonis (if it was the quest about the mad pirate ship remains).

After you open the portal, you can come and go to Demonis anytime. I ran down early to grab some stones as soon as I opened it in the game I'm playing now.

You can go to Riftland after you enter the mines.

The most powerful wizard in Ariana is who you think it is and the conversation topic about the bear will become available at some point in the game but I don't know what the trigger is.

Arlania pub, you get the last customer later. I'm not sure where again, but if you make all quests, go everywhere and talk to every NPC, you can't miss it.

The trigger is some quest from Riftland as far as I know. I think as soon as you have to to go to Rezo anyway. But I think it was a sidequest.
