Actually for what it's worth Mr. Man of Thousand All Seeing Crystal Balls I only locked one maybe two threads on that forum since I became a mod there.. which was just yesterday.. almost 24 hours at that come 2100 or so. What... you think I'm the only one there who is sick of the BS that some of you guys are bringing from both camps? Please. I'm sure nearmiss is sick of it too he probably is just in a state of @sshat overload so things slip through.
ALSO .. since you are so in the loop and all .. Jason wanted me to squelch any conversation of RoF or CoD since the folks posting in those threads have such a hard time acting like adults but I persuaded him that we'd have to have some references to both sims and others and since BoS will be built using a modified version of the RoF engine and since so many folks who are so in the know... seem ti think that engine is not capable of producing a quality product, that perhaps it would not be a bad idea to allow some examples of what the engine is capable of in it's current state. The only reason the same courtesy ios not extended to CoD is because no part of that engine is gong to be used in BoS. That engine is a non issue so discussing the virtues of it compared to the DN engine ... in a venue where folks cannot seem to accomplish that without slippng into foolishness is asking for trouble. Just to enlighten you a bit .. I know you already have all the answers an all but..
The bottom line is you can stir up stuff over here till your heart's content or the mods get sick of it .. You do it over there and you're gone for a while .. if you don't like that and you decide you don't want to be there anyway well.. that's fine too.

I was merely telling people to go there, if they really want to discuss further developments COD, even though it will be called something else. If COD is a factor in the futher development with BlackSix and other persons from COD going over to the 777 team I would think COD does have some basis going forward.

Since 777 is now the migratory path for COD it makes sense they would be interested to have the discussions on their own forums.

Well I'm sorry if my response seemed a little harsh it was not intended to be that way. I was under the impression that YOU were under the impression that the team that is putting BoS together is the same team following up on CoD since Luthier left. That is not the case. They have nothing to do with CoD or RoF aside from the fact that the same publisher is running it and it is using a modified version of the same DN engine that RoF does. RoF is it's own entity with it's own forum and it's own website. You would understand my response a little more had you been privy to the last 24 hours of posts on the BoS boards.

Not so much that as the atmosphere that is trying to establish itself over there.. I have no control over what happens here.. when I get sick of it I leave.. and come gback when it is less ripe. I can't do that over there so it is best to not feed it so it doesn't grow.

COD, while any further development has certainly come to an end, still certainly exists. I still have it on my hard drive and play it. Heck, the final patch just came out couple months ago, that made it better for many out there. It would seem to me, this certainly is the forum for discussions of COD, as it exists now.
BOS, is the new sim on the horizon, resulting from the merging of 777 ( Rise of Flight) and 1C teams ( COD). it is not a further development of COD, and not a further developement of ROF, altogether a new sim. It would seem to me, the discussions regarding BOS would best be held on the new IL2 Sturmovik forum.
I know when I saw the first post in this thread, I thought what??

Once again the brilliant all seeing carguy has spoken.. That is not what the issue is on those boards. The issue comes up when instead of requests or suggestions for features we get demands .. and people trying to tell the devs what engine is better and which one they should use etc etc etc.. Now who knows.. maybe the took what they could from the CoD engine and already tweaked the DN engine and even as we speak are busy little bees working on BoS .. again I don't know.. but what I do know is that there will be no pi$$ing contests about whose sim is better.. There will be no griping and groaning about how Luthier did this or 1C failed at that over there.. NONE. If you want to talk about the features of CoD that is fine..
