Not always though, I have never witnessed the levels of ingratitude as I have in a flight simming community.

I see the word "illegal" used a lot.
Can someone please identify under what statute (in your country) modding would be illegal.

Yep ... and being illegal it provides a very nice buffer against any crippling NG style litigation should any modder ever step on any big corporate toes ... "sorry your honor but we do not endorse that product its actually illegal they hacked our code" ...

I doubt very much if it's "illegal" anywhere. You could try and make a civil case for breach of copyright but that would involve trying to track down modders and sue them in a court in their own country. I very much doubt you'd find any law to extradite people over a civil matter!

Of course all this would cost millions and get you no-where but it would line a few more lawyers pockets!

Then you haven't been part of a PvP-community in an MMO Flightsim-communities have nothing on those.
