Yes. At Southend we often see the Bomb Disposal teams going out onto the sand at low tide to deal with bombs dropped into the thames by bombers on their way to and from London.
Once one went off and I promise you that if people think these old bombs are inert they are very wrong. A huge amount of sand and mud went up into the air. I would guess on average the teams are called out once every 6-8 weeks.
