I am experiencing the same thing. No matter which one of the 3 ships I attack first, the Quest log does not update. The quest seems to be broken.

I did, no problem for me. Can't remeber order of the ships, but the quest log updated after every one of them. I also fought pretty close to the painter's house, but I don't think it matters. Seem to be randomly bugged quest for some playthroughs.

The game crash just after i picked the apple in the tavern in arlania (quest "diabolical apple" from Xeona in Demonis).

Same happened to me. But I restarted the game and then it worked. I had a save game right outside the bar so I did not had to redo anything. I could just talk to the bartender again and get the apple.

I started my current game as a Skald after Patch 1 had come out, but before Patch 2. Not sure this is relevant for any of the 2 bugs.

PS: I have attached a save game just before fighting any of the 3 pirate ships (Quest: Ay Vaz's Masterpiece).

Okay, it worked thank you. Strange though, i've restarted the game 2 times and it still crashed but on my fourth attempt it finally worked.

Just to make sure I understand - should I list the bug as Ay Vaz's Masterpiece and the error is that the quest log doesn't always update even if you fight the three ships? Is that was the save proves? Or is your save for the apple quest.

The save is for the quest Ay Vaz's Masterpiece. Load it and fight any of the three ships. No matter which one you fight the quest will not update.

Regarding the Apple quest. That was just to say that I had experienced it too, and that I was able to get pass the crash by restarting the game.
