A mix of Fw190A-2s and A-3s in I./JG51

Same as I/JG51 but II./JG51 got some Bf109Gs in Dec '42.

III./JG51 had a mix of Bf109 F-2, -4s & G-2s, and Fw190A-2s & 3s.

IV.JG51 had the odd Fw190 but mostly Bf109Fs.

Thanks, well that seem pretty conclusive I must say. I'll absolutely buy the thing but it just seems madness to me. I suspect all the work on the channel front and all that unrealized potential will go down the drain, or worse, the community will be split between those continuing to play CLoD and those playing the sequel.

CloD and the sequel will merge, (just as Pacific Fighters merged with Forgotten Battles). You will be able to fly the new planes on the CloD (Channel) map. Any improvements to gameplay and AI improvements will also apply to CloD. You will be able to chase a Bf109f over France.

We will only be able to change the maps when we get user tools to do so. these were supposed to have been released by now, but have been delayed. Hopefully we will see them around the time of release of the sequel.

Yes, I absolutely take your point, the old and new will be merged however I assume that those who aren't prepared to pay for the sequel still get to play CLoD, for the simple reason that they've already paid for it. People being people I'm sure some won't be prepared to buy the sequel. My point is that by creating a 'second front' in Russia, you essentially create a whole new game because CLoD will still be available to play. Clearly most will happily move on to the new Russian theatre but some will stay put I suspect. Allowing that group to break formation is in my view a mistake. Instead of encouraging people to purchase new content by exposing them to the consequences of not buying it (eg having to fight a FW 190 or Bf 109 F in a Spit I or II) you end up creating two separate fronts and as a consequence you potentially encourage the development of two distinct communities. How is that good for anyone?

OK, hang on a minute. So are you actually saying that even if you don't buy the sequel, but you continue playing CLoD, you will have to contend with any new channel front aircraft that may be available via the sequel (eg the 109 F, FW 190 and Spit 5), even if you can't actually fly them. If that is what you're saying then that would be fantastic, IMO.

AFAIK I/JG 51 was the first unit to operate the 190 on the Eastern Front in September 1942, first on the Leningrad Front, then on the Central Sector. Rest of JG 51 and JG 54 followed, but all oprated in the Northern/Central Sector, so there were no 190s on the Stalingrad front...
