Update on Steam

Well, i deleted the whole file (ses.kfs), steam replaced it and the crash still occurs as soon as the ice dragon reveives the final blow. This sucks.

Do you have any .lua files outside of the ses.kfs file?

none. at least not in the addon folder. just .loc files.

Well, as at least a temporary fix, you could follow the instructions listed in this post, apparently it's been helpful for some people suffering from the bug. I just wish it was affecting everyone, it'd be easier to diagnose and fix.

thanks, man, I'll try that tomorrow and let ya know if it worked.

meh, sorry, i already used that one. It's altering the line but that does help except for the quest when you have to kill 3 of them for the dwarven king. By altering the second line the quest does not count the kills anymore and therefore no game progress. Thanks, tho.

Ok, I found out what the problem was (found a way to trigger it, not sure why it wasn't always triggering). Going to add it to the bugfix pack now.
