There is no "real" Bond. Fleming's character has little to do with the films - in the same way that Shrek-the-book is nothing like Shrek-the-movie-franchise.
To my mind Connery was the best - a charming sociopath (as character, not the man). Moore was pantomime, Dalton and Brosnan a bit meh, and Craig is Bourne. I quite liked Lazenby, but mainly because his film followed the book and had a bit of an emotional punch. Actually, I do also have a soft spot for Brosnan as "Goldeneye" is one of my fave-ever videogames

Bond has changed. They could call the next one The Bond Ultimatum.
I quite like it though. But it's different to what is was when it was at it's best (with Connerey).
