I just used viking vortex on enemy and moves it to a lvl3 trap placed.
Trap activated and did damage but didn't take away its action points; he was able to move and attack in the same round.

Not sure if this will happen with Archmages telekinesis move > trap.

lol wtf, ok in the same battle just now the same enemy unit mentioned above (undead spider) killed one of my troops and made a 'ha ha haah!' laughter noise which i think its the Soothsayer voice. hilarious
