Luthier and the whole team - thank you very much for your effort, the final patch is very impressive and I appreciate all your hard work. Good luck with the sequel, I will be one of the first ones to pre-order it.

Here comes the party pooper.
Please don't delete or edit this post, let people express less-than-good opinions, too. Yes the game got much better with each patch, and yes you can tell that there is a great deal of work behind it. However, I think that publishing a paid expansion now wouldn't be a good idea. Even with my medium-high end PC (i7/970, 12GB RAM, GTX680) the frame rates often drops close to unplayable, especially on take off. Antialiasing hasn't been taken care of, yet. That means, planes are very hard to tell apart until you're very close to them. Also, I still have a problem with the Hurricane, where low-res textures are superimposed to the hi-res ones (as shown in the patch thread and in a bug report) I could keep going but I think I made my point: right now CloD is a great game but it still needs some fixing before an expansion can be published. Personally, I wouldn't buy an expansion right now, unless early customers get a special deal. On the other hand I would buy the sequel if some time after the release, positive reports start popping up and everyone is happy with it... but for some reason, I don't think that's going to happen. Now don't get me wrong, I still believe that CloD is going to be the greatest flight sim game ever. All im saying is that I won't invest more money in it, until im sure that im not going to get ripped off again. Everyone can get ripped off once, but getting ripped of twice, by the same guy, and in the same way... well, that's not going to happen. So, make the game match the promises and I'll be happy to keep buying expansions. (also mirrored here) Last edited by tf_neuro; 10-19-2012 at 02:02 PM. |

Ok some bugs were annoying but we were lucky that the devs kept working on it during this time. I think you shld keep your head up and look around what is done as standard by the industry. Mil fly sims is a small niche. Especially WWII and in particulary accurate Flight sim with Fligh Models worked hard to allow the player to get a feel of what it was. Neither RoF or WThunder let you with this impression. So please, improve your SA and don't be so harsh.. Ok, Luthier owns us a good one, but at least he has led his team on the hard way trying to improve the game. For sure I won't spent 60€ at the next release, but be sure that I will wait "2 weeks" for the form and buy my copy as soon as price hve decrease a tad (1€ ? ~S |

It has a lot of potential, I think we all agree on that one, and I guess we also agree when it comes to giving credit for the good work to Luthier & team. However, the game is still a long way from delivering anything but a tiny fraction of what was promised. So, IMO the right thing to do is to fix what's already in game, make it match the promises, and then i'm ready to bet that everyone will be throwing money at it. |

The game is now the state I expected it to be in at release, so I've paid almost two years in advance. I enjoyed yesterday's blast and have really high hopes for the future. I'll buy the sequel in the hope that I can then properly fly the BoB. Until then I'll enjoy what we've got. Hood |
