It's never worked, unless one of the beta's changed that.

Some of it is working.
Desastersoft is offline and very different to online missions. Online some commands are working. You can ask fo vectors to enemy etc and that all works. Permissions to take-off don't work. But I will look at this today maybe to see if I can code it into online mission. In the .cs file you can make just about anything work.

So for you commands in desastersoft-campaigns are working? Not for me... only in quick missions...

Likewise I find that commands don't work in Desastersoft. Not only that but my wingmen behave in a very odd fashion often returning to base as soon as we take off or happily flying along in formation behind me but not bothering to engage the enemy. The result is that I'm left to down a squadron of bombers while fending off numerous 109s all singlehandedly. Needless to say my missions are rarely successfull.
Perhaps I should just have them all shot for cowardly behaviour. |

Hi Fellas
Yeah, some of the commands definitely work for me but as I said, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I find that quite often if I get a message from one of the wingmen to the effect of "fighters at 12 o'clock" and the like, then the commands are more likely to work...I can tell then them to attack "all" for example, or just the fighters or the target in my view (I make sure I have an enemy in my sights first) and there is a good chance they will do as I say. They actually peel off from me and make their attacks. Actually flying full switch I've been using them to find targets in the ground clutter. For example last night I was on a free hunt following vectors from CH ... we were told enemies were close but I couldn't for the life of me find them. Then one of my wingmen made the call of enemies ahead (you can hardly hear it but the text comes up)...I then issued the command to attack bombers (or was it attack all?... I forget)...I then watched the two wingmen break off and I followed them as they led my blind self to the enemy bombers. Quite proud of myself figuring that out I was ![]() If you get a text response after issuing a command (even if it is garbled nonsense) it usually indicates they will "attempt" to follow the order, ...in my experience anyway. cheers EDIT: Regen70...do go to autopilot for a few moments on the runway at the start of a mission? I think the AI wingmen not recognizing you as the lead (and returning to base) may be related to that. Its in the readme. When on the runway, I hit autopilot...wait a second or two to hear a voice (I think its from Ground Control). Once you hear a voice (or see a text message) then quickly turn auto pilot off and you should be right thereafter...the AI now recognizes you and the wingies should form up with you in the air. I'm probably not describing this very well. Apologies if you already do this but worth mentioning just in case ![]() Last edited by naz; 08-22-2012 at 12:43 PM. |
