I couldn't believe how significantly different this 'thing' was to COD. It was like flying a cartoon. After only a short time I exited the game, and yes I felt dirty. smile:

I now have a new found calmness over the waiting period for those problems surrounding this magnificent sim. It annoyed me that there over a thousand people flying the other piece of crap, but I think it was because they had coop type missions available, and a crappy arcade option catering for 12 year olds.

The mob that created the other sim have been bleating how good theirs is but it holds nothing next to our sim. Anyway, I will wash myself clean by never again doubting that this 'is' the best sim available, and I just need to be a bit more patient waiting for things to be fully fixed.

A nightmare scenario would be this sim failing and we're left with those other things, they call sims, as the only alternative.

Now deleting that 7G of junk off my PC.
I tried one too. The one i tried had thousands of players also. It looked 10 times better than cliffs and ran at least 20 times better on all maxed settings.
FMs arent perfect there but its still a betaproduct. And looking at the porked FMs in CloD (Bombers that fall on their nose without bombload and stuff) I find there not much of a diffrence.
Clouds look amazing over there and flying trough them makes water flow over your windshield. If you look into the closest details youll find more in Cliffs. DM is bettter in cliffs too. But we´ll see what we´ve got left when the devs here are done stripping the game of features to make it seem look optimzed.
Hopefully CloD devs do something. Since if they dont EVERYONE will walk the other way-

Speak for yourself. There's really no other way to walk. Il2-CloD is the best there is right now, warts and all. If they released the sequel in this state I would pay the $50.
I play this online and it's a hoot. Offline there's a lot left to be done. Lack of comms and AI behavior keep me online for now.

Why do you people always make it a case of 'either/or'? Honestly, this is how flame wars start.

You can happily have both on your HD. I welcome a quantity of games in this genre, no matter which audience they cater for. With all due respect, CloD's current audience appear as naive as some of the children being flamed here.

Hopefully CloD will continue to improve, with the lost features added back, and new ones included to keep me interested.

Can't believe I'm reading some of the stuff I'm seeing..
Are we adults or not? How is it not possible to enjoy other flight sim games?
I own many flight sim games, enjoy flying all of them, and yes, the feeling of flight and control is obviously different in each game, but they are great to fly and enjoy non the less...
Loosen up, and grow up some of you for god's sake.. and ed is correct, this is exactly how a thread turns into a flame war.

When is this game supposed to be released? Because if it's the same one I am thinking of it seems to have been in beta testing aslong as COD has.

"Well, we seem to be lacking in brotherly love around here!"

-- Butch Cassidy in "Butch Cassidy and The Sunshine Kid" -- opening scene

BTW, I never knew this until recently, the gambler that got divested of his gunbelt by The Kid's .44-40 slugs was none other than Sam Elliott....before he got famous and grew his trademark mustache.

War Thunder has a Malta map, Feather_IV? Very cool!
