Example with everything set to max with original texture:

Completely flat surfaces, not even close to the Spit pic and it doesnt even have AA witch my examples have.

The first and third pics look especially gruesome. Almost looks like if they v cut back on the poly count to.

Or there is something seriously wrong with my graphics card or driver, or both. Im starting to think thats the case cuz the trees on the second pic look od and pretty ugly to me. Anyone else got the same look?
The way you state this, I get the impression the fps improvement is not entirely due to the coders improving the grafics engine but to the modellers and artists dumbing down the models and textures.

Bit of both I think..

OP- those pix do look good. Forget how nice it looked so hopefully this is all done for a reason and will be back in soon..be nice to have an explanation on it but I wouldn't hold your breath as I'm sure they got bigger fish to fry

I kinda agree, optimizing code is not the same as gimping software. You take resources from one place and put it in another to improve it. You remove unnecessary lines of code, you make the code more efficient. CloD isn't that graphically advanced, sorry but it just isn't, the trees are killing it, the particle effects (which are not in any way state of the art) are killing it and it's all because they are unable to code the game engine properly for reasons that we will never know because luthier has lost the ability to communicate with anything other than a computer. Sorry but it's "little" things like these that makes me not wanna play CloD, gimp this! gimp that! "here you go! we turned CloD in to a tic-tac-toe game!"

Every time you visit this forum I get constantly reminded of something that could've been so great but merely turned out to be a tech demo....from 2006!

I agree, unfortunately. I believe the game has been effectively 'butchered' in order to get it to run on current PCs. What we have now is a pale shadow of what the fully realised game will look like (in 1-2 years?).

Reinstated animations (bailout and whole host of others), full weather system, AA and AF, plus a lot of features that once reinstated will have the game look much more realistic.

Despite the recent improvements COD in its current state is little more than a bare-bones skeleton.

In a game like this, my mind is racing doing calculations almost constantly during play. Only a few times do I really have the time to look closely at the paint job, but I still find it very acceptable for sure...I guess to each his own

.
COD full map is 360 km on 360 km of terrain minus the channel plus all the cities and there are many all this with a lot of flyable planes. a possibility of offline campaigns and single missions, plus online multiplayer possible missions! It is not all a not perfect but a great full mission builder so you can build your missions. This all for the price of another cheap game! And you are complaining because if you have an old pc of two years ago you cannot play this game at full high settings? Any other game from the same date or more recent as COD you cannot play at full if at all! Per example ROf is older and less demanding try to put 50 planes in ROF and see? Another example; FSX try to put every module in it to make it nearly as nice to look at as COD and count the fps on the fingers of one hand! I know COD is not perfect but it is the only game where the developing team does work with the gamers to make it better. Long live COD.

Have you ever been to the RoF forums? These guys set the standard for communication and team work with their community.

God almighty, the pics in the first post are good. I want to play that game!

I would be eager to communicate to if i was to get the costumer to pay for every single little trinket, i mean, "personal pack 2", wtf?

They are working on useless stuff to get money from their costumers or they go belly up, and inform about on a regular basis, of course. Fact.

Jason spend every waking moment (not far from it) or he will be out of a job within a month.

What im trying to say is that you cant compare the two, its 2 completely different business models and it shows in how things are done.
