Thats what I figured it was, but the lack of exterior damage sounds or any visual cues made it hard to tell.... And with my piloting skills, for the plane to just implode due to something I did isnt unexpected

S!

In many cases you get damaged without knowing it just because the hit sounds do not play at all Old IL-2 could handle it so why not CoD? Does not have to be different sound for each bullet hitting you but for example LOUD rattle/bang/whatever telling you are being hit by something. Funny enough I can hear other planes near me and bullets whizzing by the canopy, but NOT the hits. Something odd here?

I know when I first got the game, you heard hit noises on your plane when you shot another plane, so I am sure its a bug on the waiting list to be fixed, although I dont know if its been confirmed, need to check the bug tracker and see if its listed, sure it has been...

I get hit sound VERY rarely if at all. As mentioned above I hear easier the whizzing bullets near my plane or another plane behind me..but not a slug slamming into my plane...

For sure its one of the top things they need to fix, flying along getting shot up and not knowing it till you are crashing could be a real issue

And a damn annoying one in the game supposed to be THE benchmark for all others But as you said let's hope they will eventually get to it and find a fix.
