what is not known is how the polinesian for example could sail so precisely without a clock to obtain longitude

i think they used a virtual counterotating sun

in greenwhich they would count 80 of each while after a revolution to earth they would count 79 and 81 of each

the question you should ask yoursel is how many people are on solving the longitude probelem?

And as normal you go away from your original hypothesis. Nobody will know how the Polynesians did it, they're all dead so we can't ask them.

You propose the wrong question. The most appropriate question is : why might it only be you trying to solve this problem? Answer: it's already been solved, it's old technology and it is irrelevant in today's world.

If you came with this idea in the 40s you'd have been 180 years too late and you'd be ridiculed, just like now. Why don't you just pm or email those that are actually interested?
