Looks like there's nothing else to say full stop.

How about a "Steam" down loadable patch?
Then what kristorf said.

Yeah, now that I have taken my anti-depressants (thanks for the kind words from the low side... never too busy for delievering personal attacks, eh?), I'm STILL disappointed. Somewhat.
I mean, they apparently make some progress on the launcher crash issue and that's something! I've never had any launcher crashes before, but 1C obviously figured that everybody should be in the same boat, if nothing else. So with the last/current patch, I got launcher crashes as well; therefore I'm glad to be informed that they're still working on fixing launcher crashes!
That way, at least it feels like that patch is also made for me and the other guys who just want to play a bit, even if this involves switching off ssao, going down a bit from the very highest settings on a 1 GHz laptop and so on.

Oh, and it seems that we've got at people who can do stuff with e.g. AI radio commands that is vastly superior to anything which has been mounted by 1C ("permission_denied" vs. a big rant and further instructions by the Squad leader... no contest.) - that's at least something. I hope that more quality CoD stuff comes forward by the community since the potential of CoD is still there and people seem to catch up with understanding the inner workings.

I wonder, why don't we get the beta patches through steam? Like Skyrim for example, they release their beta patches as an optional download on Steam. Why hassle with these separate, uploaded on dodgy filesharing sites patches? Guess I kinda know the answer to that already but maybe someone else knows better.

I don't want the beta patches on steam. Once steam patches it, you can never roll back to an earlier patch. Right now I'm using the last retail patch and neither of the last 2 beta patches. That's one of my gripes with steam...not giving you any freedom to choose what version you want to use.

Please read the link before commenting.

"To partake in the Beta, follow these instructions:

Log into Steam
Click on Steam in the upper menu
Select Settings
Under the Account tab, go to the Beta Participation section and select Change.
A drop down menu will appear. Select Skyrim Beta.
Select OK.
Steam will now restart. After Steam restarts, Skyrim will be updated to the Beta version currently available."

As you can see, it's optional but more convenient than with "external" beta patches. Less confusing for the lesser tech adept if you will.

Am I missing something? I didn't see anywhere that says if the beta patch doesn't work for you, steam will allow you to roll back to the previous version.

Maybe you could read my post before making snarky comments. You would see my issue is about not being able to roll back to earlier versions. Show me in the link you posted where it says that smart guy.
