That's exactly what I'd recommend. I started building my current rig over a year and a half ago and was told by so many people that I should just wait until BoB comes out even then. I've never built a rig for a specific game (and never will) and ended up with a really good system that has allowed me to play all the other games I wanted to play at high settings (COD4, UT3, etc,) as well as turning up all the eye candy in this sim and have been enjoying things on it for over a year. I built a core 2 duo E6700 (@3.2) with 2gb RAM and an 8800GTS (upgraded from a 7950GX2). It screams through everything and I haven't regretted it for even a second. Funny thing is, all those guys that recommended I wait have almost all built new rigs since then. Build a good rig now and simply enjoy it. X48 chipset mobo GTX280 GPU 4gb fast DDR3 RAM (Vista), 3gb if using XP Raptor 150GB HDD (OS) 7200.10 300GB+ for data and game installs 1KW PSU that is PCIE 2.0 compliant (with a pair of 8-pin connectors) Put it all in a good aluminum user-friendly case and don't look back. my .02c |

A google might help..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhysX Novodex started up a long time ago, but it all based on C.. which I don't like. It should be based on ASM, which is more efficient AND faster and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havok_(software) is much the same thing.. So PhysX will be Nvidia based and Havok MSoft based (those annoying little toys like Xbox, playstation..etc Oleg is spreading his wings... but either way it looks good. |
