Works reasonably well for me. I get the occaisional Launcher crash but I don't find CloD as bad as some say. Some frustrating aspects for sure but I enjoy what works well.

Its a glass half full/half empty scenario, we all know the problems, we all know what needs to be fixed it just some people focus on the water they have and some focus on the water that isnt there....

I've just build a high end pc for a customer with a limit for the hardware of 2000 €.
MB Asus Rampage IV, i7 3820, 16 gb DDR3, GTX680, 3 x 1TB drives ( raid v) and a 750 W PS.
All, except the PS, watercooled in a fanless watercooled Chieftek Tower from Innovatek.
That baby runs CoD very well, actually its overkill for the state it is right now, plus it reaches 57°C max. under full load with NO NOISE except from the harddrives!

[QUOTE=robtek;438249 under full load with NO NOISE except from the harddrives![/QUOTE]

You did not put in at least one SSD? I have close to what you built with two gtx680's and two SSD's. Overkill with this game. The game runs worse under sli, more big stutters. When I have the game hooked up to 3x1680x1050 monitors in surround mode it atomatically goes into sli mode because I spread the load over the two cards. For some reason hooking three monitors to one card and a fourth 30inch 2560x1600 monitors to the second GPU just prevents me from having surround mode.

I prefer the 3370x1680(bezel correction)resolution over the big 30 inch monitor but it's a bummer I have the stutters. Before I got my second gtx680 and 30 inch I ran all three of just one card and that ran fine, no stutters. For this game the extra gtx680 is not only overkill, it hobbles it actually because sli, though working, lowers temps but hardly any fps increase, is still porked. Runs RoF, DCS A10 and FSX just fine though so untill Il2CoD is patched up I'm done trying to fine tune it. When fixed I'll contemplate taking one 680 out if that's what keeps if from running perfect. The other two are better in sli but still very playable with just one GPU.

What really surprised me is that when I have sli enabled over two cards the 30 inch monitor get's blacked out. Not a big deal in CloD but in FSX it's nice to have a fourth screen. The 3370x1680 surrounds are hooked up thru dvi-d and the 30 inch thru displayport. If anyone sees I'm overlooking something let me know. I'm running the latest Nvidia driver.

I will try one last time - but i'm wasting time.

I have a desktop computer which plays many brand new high end games (my sons) just fine. The problem is not my computer.... it is this game. It is a half baked piece of poo. I should not have to do anything - it should work right?

The community I knew over ten years ago that surrounded the IL2 game is gone. We are left with fan boys for a poop game. goodbye

You are acting like a half-wit, stop it please. As you may know, I have my fair share of complaints about this simulator but still I have an AMD X2 260, 4gb ram and an extremely modest HD6670... yet I can still play it fine, with perfectly playable frame rates. I just turn the graphics options down some. Who cares? The elephant in the room is the plethora of gameplay issues with this software... most obviously the AI, flight models, multiplayer performance and crashes. Oh, did I mention AI? Graphics shortfalls are easily worked around with or ignored for the time being.
