Hi HR_Naglfar, Thanks for reply , yes I applied the Tdr fix to the registry as below:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\GraphicsDrivers
Edit - New - DWord
Name = TdrDelay
Value Data = 12

Didn't change things for me. Still have black screen.
Got good sound but no visual yet

Excellent! - missed this post first time around, Thank you HR_Naglfar!

This fix worked for me, back in the "air" at last, Took Hurri for a quick trip along the channel early this morning, all looking and sounding lush, up to medium graphics settings, full screen without issues so far. Looking forward to some more tweaking and testing tonight.

@ HR_Naglfar: Re your comment on it not been a bug. Agree that it may technically not be a core source code bug , but not all users should be expected to edit registry to get a "game" working. Something that should be accounted for in the installation process.

That's true and it's why I say that I'm not sure...

But the thing is that the game only freezes for a few seconds at the startup, only with slow GPUs, and without this "fantastic" feature from windows there will be absolutely no problem for everyone.
