They know it but it does not help them.

No one is obliged to help. Only those who want to may help. Others should not install alpha or beta anyway. There are plenty of other games to play till CloD is improved by those who want to help. It may take several years.

If Activision or EA have better developers they can try to produce a better WWII flightsim and make it profitable somehow. There are not many qualified developers in Russia unfortunately.

Thats an excellent point, as frustrated as we get with everything that goes on, we have to try and support these little companies to keep getting us the games we want, sims are not that big over here anymore, everyone wants to put out the next Call of Duty, so the most we can hope for are games like World of Warplanes... I dont want to live in a world like that so an Alpha of IL2 is better than what EA or Activision might publish... IMHO

So send in those crash reports... I will soon as I have one, but i havent yet, thank the sim gods!

They should make it compatible and working flawless asap. That's it !

You want the game to get fixed? Tell them what's wrong about it. That's what Ataros says and it's also the purpose of this testing patch.

But really tell them. Throwing hands up in the air and screaming "why won't it wooooork!", or saying "i don't care, just fix it" does not amount to telling. It amounts to expecting others to guess what you want and implement it. Not a very realistic expectation i might say.

Cheers

Blackdog, everything is said and documented a hundred times in this board. A database has been created for their easy reference, and if that's not enough they should simply spend a weekend playing CloD on a customary PC. I'm convinced they are fully aware of the problems but until now they are not able to get those damn thing work w/o crashes. We waited 7 month for a "beta" patch that finally was an "alpha" patch of what ever, but take your time follow the 1.06.17582 bug thread to see what I'm talking about.

For me it makes no sense to send anything anywhere as long as they have obviously no clue whats wrong with their code in general.

Cheers

Well, it's perfectly ok to feel however you want to feel about this. If you want to sit this one out, nobody is going to force you otherwise.

Personally, the only thing i'm convinced about is that we have too much speculation and conspiracy theories around here, which tend to muddy the waters considerably.

I generally take things in stride and prefer to test for myself before judging, because i believe that nobody here can claim to have actual knowledge of what happens in 1c's offices.

The reason i'm feeling ok with how things are going is that the end results have been getting better for me as time goes by. I sure would like them to speed up a bit, but i have other things to occupy me besides the sim so it's all good.

Maybe i'm just lucky, but i've seen nothing but improvements on my mid-range PC, patch after patch and for every single update.Or maybe i just had the free time to put in more of an effort during the first months post-release and learned how to properly patch and tweak my installation.

I don't know, because usually i don't know how the people who seem to have the biggest problems do things on their installation to compare: a lot times they don't really say much about what's wrong, except from the fact that they are displeased with something, so i can't really compare or offer any help.

Had a blast tonight. 7 He111s and 1 Ju88 took off from Tramcourt all flying in formation to give those RAF fellas a bomb or 100 8 of us heavies all in formation at around 3000m the whole way. Around the 1/2 way point we picked up a couple 109 escorts. Within 2 minutes to target the spittys showed up and then a we had a massive fight. Spittys attacking the bombers, cannon shells from the 109s splattering all over the place, staying in formation we managed to drop our bombs.

All but 3 of us made it back home safe and sound. It was a good 2 hour sortie in a nice formation. One of the players that hopped in as a gunner even got a pilot kill. Not a single crash (even a launcher one at that ).

This is such a huge improvement for me. I wish it worked better for those having problems.

Edit: Doc shot this all on tape. Expect a video sometime in the near future

@Ataros - Great post I hope everyone is sending their crash logs in and maybe giving a little summary of what they were doing when it happened. We were trying to get it to crash with formations and can't make it happen. Perhaps we'll get a group of 10 or more bombers in a formation tomorrow!
