If we follow the OP advice we will all be changing baby diapers instead of flying in 9 months.

just as a reminder, 777 studio brought a license from shockwave production to use the merlin engine and built a game on top of it

it's faster to build a car this way

Yep, you're dead right. Never looked at the dates, just saw Sli/Crossfire support and hoped.
Should have known better. This whole thing is becoming a major joke.

got to the point like it or not but i dont think i will ever purchase software from this company again its been a trainwreak,
almost all these latest titles from ubi soft are far from finished, poor beta testing inhouse, titles such as silent hunter 5 now this sim.
i tested out rise of flight free demo, its incredible the performance difference these 2 sims offer, looks like rise of flight
dev team used there minds and created code that uses all the cpu cores, had performance in mind from day one.
such as shame , willing to give it one more patch attempt trial, if it fails in performace i am removing this software from my drive for good, and moving on

we pay good money for these titles least have them tested better before launch, other method many companies are now starting to do is pre purchase open beta testing,
to get more of the community involved, for the efforts they get some freebies ie addons maps etc extra content at no charge ,
more heads finding bugs the better polished product we get.

not one for rants but it had to be said.

You hardly EVER play MP in clodo, try a populated server! ... Its only playable for 20-120 mins at best... For a multiplayer Squadron this is a slow strangulation!

Would make sense, if you leave out the fact that CloD was way longer (maybe twice as long?) in development.

What you could perhaps do, is compare the costs for the customer of those two flightsims. I probably spend $200 or so on ROF and about $30 for CloD. Of course you can also pay way less for ROF, it's even F2P now (of course with limited planeset avaliable).

777 is mostly ROF, so alot of that money from sales could go into the development of ROF, while for CloD, Ubisoft also gets its share, atleast from non-russian market sales. So that makes a difference

It does make use of all CPU cores, but not fully. Overall CPU usage varies i think and can be as low as 50%. Same is true for the GPU.

Glaring bugs in the game remain unfixed, but the developers continue to release paid cosmetic addons.
Don't like much of the recent pay-ware stuff, but the number of "glaring" bugs is not exactly that big.

But no, i don't think 777 is that interested in buying this sim, so the topic is mood.

Chrissakes....

They're working to try and fix things. Yes it's been a sorry state of things, yes a lot of people are unhappy paying for poor content, but from what they tell us they are trying to repair the sim; which incidentally is no simple matter.

Give the poor sods a break - I think they get the picture. I think they got it a long time ago.
