I take it your a red pilot. Red fighters do the same. Its nothing to do with colour. The dot literally does disapear for a few seconds before the polygon model appears.

Change MeshShowLod=0 to MeshShowLod=1 in the [core] section of the conf.ini file in \My documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover.
Be aware that the game will be moving more things on screen so you'll probably get less fps. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28085 |

I look at red aircraft all the time when I’m flying and they don’t exhibit the same graphical responses as the 109 in particular. I would be very surprised if the visual effects with respect to the 109 were only observable from a red-aircraft cockpit, and not a blue one. I’m going to do some more blue flying though, to see if the problem of spotting 109s is psychological… |

Fly a 109 long enough on line and your'll see red fighters doing it.

Do red aircraft disappear when you fly red?

It's a LOD problem. Has nothing to do with red or blue aircrafts, but rather with its dimensions.
I suffered it the first time flying in a Spitfire, couldn't see a squad mate flying in another Spit at a certain distance. |

Ok I think we are talking about different issues then.
I do not have any problems with any aircraft (red or blue) , except for the light painted 109s. |

Same issue here. But what I hate worse are the ghost dots.
